Zion Canyon

Zion Canyon has always been important to me since one of the first settlers in the Canyon, and the man who named the canyon, was my Great, Great, Great Grandfather Issac Behunin.

He is also credited with saying “A man can worship God among these great cathedrals as well as he can in any man-made church; this is Zion.”  A feeling that has been passed down to me through my Father. My Grandfather Hyrum Morris Buhanan was a ranger in cedar breaks and in Zion and made many of the early pictures used for those places. This tie to the land, the geology and history of the place makes me want to share it with others.

If you want to to see some of the early photographs, this is one book Grandpa provided images for http://www.amazon.com/LIVING-COLOR-WILDFLOWER-COMMUNITIES-BREAKS/dp/B000B7BY9I/ref=pd_rhf_gw_p_img_1
