As mentioned in my post about Zion, my family also settled the Capitol Reef area and the family cabin still stands there. Drought and flood made it impossible to keep farming there so the family had to move on, but it is a tangible connection I feel to these places. The park rangers still won’t let me spend the night in my ancestral home, but I will keep asking…
